Local Ownership : Your Utilities Commission
About Public Power

New Holstein Utilities is governed by a Utility Commission composed of five members from the community. Four of these members are appointed by the mayor for 5-year terms. The other commissioner is appointed annually by the mayor, and is a representative of the City Council.

The Commissioners oversee the management of the utility to keep rates competitive (electric, water, wastewater and softners are some of the lowest in the state) and to provide excellence in customer service. The commissioners will serve until their terms expire as follows:

  • Gene Woelfel, term expires 4/30/2010
  • Daniel Watson, term expires 9/30/2010
  • Charles K. Fett, term expires 9/30/2011
  • Michael Steffen, term expires 9/30/2012
  • William Heus, term expires 9/30/2010
