If you're stuck with older, less efficient appliances, they are costing you extra money on your utility bill. Maybe it's time to replace that old refrigerator or freezer with new models. Or maybe that second refrigerator that is kept in the basement just doesn't seem to get much use any more, and it's costing you money while keeping that extra gallon of milk or other favorite beverage cold.
Our Appliance Turn-In Program makes it easy to remove that old appliance. Plus, New Holstein Utilities will pay you a $40 cash reward when you turn in your old refrigerator or freezer that are still in working condition.
Through our vendor, you can arrange to have one or two of these older appliances picked-up. Don't worry about the cost to pick up the appliance(s), New Holstein Utilities will cover those costs as well. The appliances you turn in will be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. Useful parts will be recycled and dangerous PCBs and ozone-damaging CFCs will be recovered. Best of all, by removing the old appliance(s) from your home, you will save money on your utility bill.
The vendor can also pick up working room air conditioners and dehumidifiers, but these appliances must be accompanied by either a refrigerator or a freezer. However, you are only eligible for one, $40 incentive per year.
New Holstein Utilities and our power supplier, WPPI Energy, are now partners in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Responsible Appliance Disposal (RAD) Program. The goal of our appliance recycling program is to promote energy conservation by reducing consumption and at the same time, reduce emissions of ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases through the collection and proper disposal of refrigerated appliances.
