We offer services to help residential customers and businesses recycle and dispose of hazardous and potentially hazardous materials in a safe, environmentally responsible way. Products like fluorescent lamps, standard ballasts, batteries and computer equipment can contain toxins that can be harmful to the environment. By recycling these products, hazardous waste such as mercury, lead and cadmium is captured and disposed of in a proper manner. The glass, metal and plastic can be recycled and used to make new products.
The next recycling event will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the NHU Garage located at 1819 Park Avenue.
We provide competitive, efficient and safe recycling and/or disposal of hazardous and potentially hazardous waste lamps, light bulbs, capacitors, computers and other PCB ballast components in an EPA approved facility.
NHU is pleased to offer this recycling service to our customers several times each year. The recycling dates are communicated through our web site, billing inserts and bill messages. Customers are responsible for bringing the products to New Holstein's collection site. Fees are collected at the time the recycled products are delivered to the collection site. We request that fluorescent lamps be boxed in their original containers, taped shut and the number of lamps to be recycled written on the box. The materials are collected by the vendor and properly recycled.
