Being part of the community we serve is a role that New Holstein Utilities takes seriously. As your local utility, we work hard to be an active participant by lending a hand in community service projects and offering various educational programs. Some of our employees are active members of local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Corporation, Kiwanis and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
With an annual grant from WPPI Energy, our wholesale power provider, New Holstein Utilities distributes donations from our Community Contributions program to a variety of entities for projects which provides direct benefits to the people of New Holstein. In the past, we have awarded donations to support the local food pantry, the summer reading program, fireworks for the Firemen's Picnic, recreation programs for youth, youth scouting programs, tri-shaw purchase and emergency responder programs. Organizations should contact the NHU General Manager or Business Manager to discuss how they may be able to receive a grant from the Community Contributions program.
Some of the past recipients of grants have included: New Holstein Fire Department, New Holstein First Responders, New Holstein Community Chest, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Salvation Army of Calumet County, New Holstein School District, New Holstein Boy Scouts, New Holstein Police Department, New Holstein City Airport, New Holstein Aquatic Center and others.
To assist in promoting economic development in the City of New Holstein, NHU has also provided donations to the New Holstein Area Chamber of Commerce to promote existing businesses and to the New Holstein Economic Development Corporation to attract new businesses into the community.
New Holstein Utilites also uses its expertise and available resources by providing in-kind donations to help projects come to fruition in the community. Staff has volunteered their time and the utility has provided equipment to help complete projects which enhance the community to attract new residents and businesses.
We want to continue to make New Holstein a wonderful place to work, live and play!
