New Holstein Utilities (NHU) is a municipally-owned and operated electric, water, water softening, and sanitary sewer utility serving approximately 2,700 customers in the City of New Holstein (WI) and five surrounding townships. The utility strives to provide economically priced, reliable, and environmentally friendly services and programs. New Holstein is located in northeast Wisconsin approximately 40 miles south of Green Bay and 70 miles north of Milwaukee.
New Holstein Utilities was founded in 1912 by a favorable vote of the community’s residents. Electric service was provided later that year. Today, NHU has 166 miles of electric distribution system in its service territory.
Under the direction of the New Holstein Utilities Commission and the NHU General Manager, and also accountable to the Electric Operations Supervisor and/or Electric Department Lead Lineman, the Journeyman Lineworker completes construction and maintenance activities associated with the Electric Department operations.
The position of Journeyman Lineworker requires a high school diploma or equivalent. The candidate must have the appropriate accreditation with proof of a Certificate of Apprenticeship in the Electric Line Trade.
Second-year and third-year apprentice lineworkers will also be considered for the vacancy.
Salary and Benefits
The starting salary is $42.63/hour. Competitive benefits package is available. A qualified candidate may earn additional compensation through standby and overtime work.
