New Holstein Utilities has quality water softeners available for a very reasonable monthly rental fee. The softener program has been in place since 1967. All softeners are installed and maintained by the utilities, all you need to do is add salt.

Monthly Charge $9.02+tax for a 1cubic ft softener
(Contact office for charges on larger units.)
City ordinance 14.03(5)(g), requires that new water softeners shall have DIR (Demand Initiated Regeneration) controls and have a minimum salt efficiency of 3350 grains of hardness per pound of salt.
A building permit shall be required for the installation of new water softeners not installed by New Holstein Utility to ensure said standards are met.
